About ConvertSnap

Five free, fast, browser-based tools for the everyday calculations most people do a few times a week โ€” and have to dig through clutter to find.

What ConvertSnap Is

ConvertSnap is a collection of five free online calculation tools: a unit converter, a live currency converter, a percentage calculator, a date and age calculator, and a secure password generator. Every tool runs entirely in your browser โ€” no server processing, no account creation, and no data storage of any kind.

The site exists because the best existing tools are buried under pop-ups, paywalls, and slow load times. ConvertSnap was built to be the opposite: open a page, get your answer, move on. No friction.

Our Privacy Commitment

All ConvertSnap tools are implemented in client-side JavaScript. When you use the unit converter, enter a tip calculation, or generate a password, that data is processed on your device and never transmitted to any server.

We don't log your inputs. We don't store your generated passwords. We don't track what you convert. The only data we receive is standard anonymous page view analytics (Google Analytics) โ€” the same data every website collects to understand traffic. No personally identifiable information is collected through tool usage.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and watch it while using any tool. There are no outgoing requests during calculation or password generation.

Design Principles

ConvertSnap is built around a few simple rules:

  • Instant results โ€” Every tool updates as you type. No buttons to press, no loading spinners, no waiting.
  • Always free โ€” No subscriptions, no "pro" tier, no features locked behind an account. Every tool is fully available to everyone.
  • No account required โ€” You shouldn't have to create an account to convert kilometers to miles.
  • Mobile-friendly โ€” All tools work on any screen size, from small smartphones to large monitors.
  • Honest about data โ€” We tell you exactly what we collect (almost nothing from tool usage) and what we don't.

Accuracy and Limitations

Unit conversions use standard conversion factors and are accurate to the precision shown. Temperature conversions follow exact mathematical formulas (ยฐC = (ยฐF โˆ’ 32) ร— 5/9, etc.).

Currency exchange rates are sourced from the European Central Bank via the Frankfurter API and are updated once per business day. They represent the mid-market rate โ€” the true interbank rate with no markup. These rates are for informational purposes and are not suitable for large financial transactions, which should be confirmed directly with a bank or licensed broker.

All date calculations use the proleptic Gregorian calendar and correctly handle leap years, month-length variations, and year-boundary crossings. Business day calculations exclude weekends but do not automatically exclude public holidays, which vary by jurisdiction.

Password strength estimates are based on character set size and length. They assume an offline brute-force attack at approximately 10 billion guesses per second. Actual security depends on factors beyond length and character set, including whether the password appears in breach databases.
